Alexander Gorodysky (1930-1992)
He graduated from the Kiev Polytechnic Institute, Department of Electrochemical Production Technology in 1951. From 1951 he worked at the Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry of the USSR Academy of Sciences (since 1970 - head of the department, since 1973 - director).
Scientific works are devoted to the kinetics of electrode processes and electrochemistry of inorganic materials. He created theories of bifunctional electrochemical systems, the nonstationary state of electrode processes, and the Faraday electrode impedance. He established the mechanism and electrochemical functions of complex formation, a number of regularities of electrochemical kinetics, and performed quantum-mechanical calculations of electron transfer reactions. He developed methods for electrochemical treatment of metals and electroplating of various electrolytes.
